For Canadians, word is out that appointments for visa services from Mexico have been canceled with no explanation. It’s probably that Mexico is going to announce some new qualifications.
I’ll let you know when I hear anything.
And for non-Canadians, this is just a warning that México and any country can change their rules about becoming a resident at any time. Even canceling appointments.
You’re not a resident until you have your resident card.
If you don’t plan on retiring full-time to your favorite foreign country and you qualify for residency why not do it right now before countries increase the qualifications or the mind about it all entirely.
México is safe because there are so many expats living here, but some smaller countries could just make it impossible to be a resident.
